Groundhog Bites Sun Prairie, Wisconsin Mayor

Jimmy the Groundhog's forecast debated; mayor bitten (Channel 3000)

Sun Prairie's 67th Groundhogs Day Celebration was anything but uneventful after Jimmy the Groundhog bit the mayor and disagreement ensued over his forecast.

It began as any other year, Jimmy rode with his caretakers, Jerry and Maria Hahn, in a limo escorted by Sun Prairie firefighters.

Just as Sun Prairie Mayor Jonathan Freund, leaned in to hear Jimmy's prediction, he was bitten in the ear by the groundhog. He then declared Jimmy didn't see his shadow and there would be an early spring.
