The president suggested parents vaccinate their children as the CDC warns a new outbreak of measles is spreading

Chris Christie tries to clarify remarks about 'balance' on vaccines (USA Today)

Chris Christie says the government must seek “balance” between concerns for public health and decisions made by parents when it comes to vaccinations for children.

Hours after his initial comments, Christie’s office sent out a statement clarifying the potential presidential candidate’s remarks. “The governor believes vaccines are an important public health protection and with a disease like measles there is no question kids should be vaccinated,” the statement said.

A day after President Obama urged parents to vaccinate their children against measles, the New Jersey governor added his voice to the debate on immunizations during a trip to England.
