‘The president walked out, he made some comments, he let some other people make some comments and then he turned around and presumably went back to the Oval Office’

RUSH EXCERPT:
JANSING: "Hallie Jackson, what was that?"
JACKSON: "Essentially and effectively, Chris, the human long form version of a presidential tweet. The president walked out, he made some comments, he let some other people make some comments and then he turned around and presumably went back to the oval Office or at least inside the those are the facts. There was consternation in this half empty briefing room as to why the president would come out and deliver a statement, as you note, fr-- for the first time ever behind this podium, and not take questions from reporters who did want to ask him questions about a lot of different topics. I just spoke with one white House official, and sort of put this question to that person, Chris, like, what was the point? Why do that?”
