Dem Rep. Ben Ray Luján: ‘No Reason for Democrats to Work to Support the President’s Wall’

LUJAN: “The President’s wall is ineffective, it’s expensive and it’s ridiculous. There’s no reason for Democrats to work to support the President’s wall. I think we have been very clear about that. I just went to a visit down on the border. Sadly, where young Jacqueline lost her life, just 17 days before young Felipe lost his life in Antelope Wells and Lordsburg. Down in Antelope Wells, they didn’t even have running water. Recent tests show it was contaminated. You can’t bathe or cook with it. You can’t use a toilet with it. We need to make sure we’re putting money toward facility when it comes to running water and also making sure border agents have the medical equipment and capacity to be able to care for young children so they don’t die while they're in their custody. That’s where the investment should be and the President is just blind to all of this."
