‘The president is now landing in Iraq where over 5,000 American troops are deployed and will deploy and stay to fight ISIS in the coming weeks and months’

EXCERPT:

PERINO: "We do have some breaking news. There's a Fox News alert because President Trump makes a surprise visit to Iraq. Let's bring in Lucas Tomlinson, he was just here a moment ago but it's good to have you back. Lucas, this is the President’s first trip overseas to see the troops. He took the First Lady, Melania Trump, with him. What do you know?"
TOMLINSON: "Dana, it was a surprise. In fact, officials here at Pentagon, we were under strict orders not to report the trip until the President was wheels down and on the ground in Baghdad. This comes after the President received a lot of criticism for not visiting a combat zone in Iraq or Afghanistan since taking office. The President now landing in Iraq where over 5,000 American troops are deployed and will deploy and stay to fight ISIS in the coming weeks and months. There's no plan on the books to have them leave the country. Obviously, just last week the President announced he is pulling all 2,000 troops out of neighboring Syria, but the troops in Iraq will stay. In fact, there are U.S. Army artillery units on the border with Syria that are shelling ISIS around the clock in ISIS's last known city called Hajin, and that continues. So the President here responding to critics, perhaps, visiting Iraq and those forces to show American troops that this commander-in-chief is with them, Dana."
