Susan Page: ‘Democrats Have Zero Incentive To Give Him Any Money for His Wall’

‘His negotiating position gets weaker’

EXCERPT:

PAGE: "One thing that’s remarkable about what Mick Mulvaney said yesterday on the shows was that somehow calling it steel slats would convince Democrats it wasn’t a wall and they would be okay to support it, which, by the way, is not going to happen. If President Trump could not get funding for his wall when Republicans controlled the House and Senate, why in the world is he going to be able to get funding for the wall when Democrats take over the House? That’s one reason this shutdown doesn’t make much sense, because his negotiating position doesn’t get stronger if he waits until the new Congress, until he waits until the new year, as Mulvaney said yesterday he's prepared to do. His negotiating position gets weaker. Democrats have zero incentive to give him any money for his wall."
