BARNICLE: "Gene, when it comes to Trump’s policies, it’s easy for us to lose ourselves in the tweets and the misdirection that comes out of the White House multiple times each and every day. But with regard to China, he’s now playing in the major leagues and the Chinese are very serious about their country, their future, the power they have and the power they continually want to attain. At the inception of the Trump presidency, he practically gave away the Pacific Rim by getting out of TPP, the Trans-Pacific Trade Act. And now we have this. Deal or no deal, nobody knows what’s going on. 'The Wall Street Journal' reports that Bob Lighthizer, who is a tough, tough pro-tariff guy, is going to head up the negotiations. So I don’t know about you, but this does not feel good."
