RNC Chair: ‘If We Keep Mississippi’ It’s Going To Be an ‘Excellent Showing’ for a First Term

‘We don’t want to take anything for granted’

EXCERPT:

HEMMER: "What does 53 in the Senate mean?"
McDANIEL: "It gives breathing room, incents other Democrats to come over and work with Republicans instead of being in lockstep as one group against the President, so it is an important number, it also is historical. You know, a president in that first midterm usually uses three Senate seats and not enough has been made by the fact that we’ve taken out four Democrat incumbent senators, that he has expanded his margin in the Senate. If we keep Mississippi today, it will be a plus two margin. That is an excellent showing for a first term midterm of a sitting president."
