CNN: General Motors Is Shutting Down Four Plants in the United States

KING: "General Motors is says it's cutting 15 percent of its salaried staff and shutting down four plants in the United States, two in Michigan, one in Ohio and one just outside of Baltimore. GM also said it will close another plant in Canada. The closure means over 3700 American manufacturing jobs will be gone by the end of next year. The restructure in the front office could cut much deeper; 8,000 engineering, white collar jobs across the United States. The car giant's cost saving measures prompting outrage from the biggest auto union in the country. The united autoworkers calls a decision, quote, 'callous' and is now accuses GM leaders for putting profits before working families.”
