LOCKHART: “Yeah, that's true. The President, as always, is playing politics and putting politics ahead of the policy or even the goal there. I think a lot of what the Chief Justice’s motivation was, he has seen what the President has done to other institutions, the media — enemy of the people, the intelligence community — he rejects them and talks about the deep state, the Justice Department with Jeff Sessions. And I think the Chief Justice looked at this and said it’s time for somebody to stand up for an independent judiciary. And even if we get into this fight, he’s willing to get in the fight because it’s worth fighting for.”
