Stirewalt: Mueller Knows that Anything Short of Declaring Trump ‘a Traitor’ Will Be Viewed by Dems as Insufficient

‘I guarantee you that Robert Mueller wants this to be concluded every bit as much if not more so than the president’

EXCERPT:

STIREWALT: "Oh, I guarantee you that Robert Mueller wants this to be concluded every bit as much --"
PERINO: "Probably. Yeah."
STIREWALT: "-- if not more so than the president. And I don’t think he’s worried about his reputation. He stands in very highest steam in Washington. He is probably the most revered law man in the business today, Democrats and Republicans alike based on his track record at the FBI. So he’s not worried about that part. What he is worried about I am sure is coming up with a conclusion that will be satisfactory. Now he knows that anything short of declaring the president a traitor will be viewed by Democrats as insufficient. But he knows that the president is going to try to discredit anything that he finds, especially as it relates to members of his inner circle. And that becomes the testy point for Mueller.”
