Ed Henry on Speaker Battle: Only in Modern Democratic Party Could You Have Charges of Sexism with a Woman Against a Woman
EXCERPT:
HENRY: "Yeah, but look, only in the modern Democratic Party could you have charges of sexism when it's potentially a woman against a woman. Does that really make sense?"
KILMEADE: "Don’t question it."
HENRY: "But the bottom line is, yes, Nancy Pelosi is right that 14 out of the 17 Democrats who are signing this letter saying 'We want a new Speaker basically' are men, so you may have folks like Tim Ryan in Ohio who ran against her last time and lost badly, they realize that a white male going up against Nancy Pelosi and the history and all of that is going to be hard. So they found Marcia Fudge, she's an African-American woman, she'd be the first black Speaker, and there are some in the Black Caucus saying, 'Hey, this is kind of interesting. Maybe we do need a new face in Democratic Party. But I think Brian is right that at the end of the day, Nancy Pelosi is likely to have the votes. it all comes down to money frankly.”
