Ron Dermer: Hatred of Jewish People Is Now a Hatred of the Jewish State

‘The rule in European history has been anti-Semitism’

"I think it's important to understand, Joe, that what you saw happen in the few decades after the Holocaust was the exception and not the rule. The rule in European history has been anti-Semitism and there was a brief period in the wake of Holocaust where it was politically incorrect to be anti-Semitic. That has changed over the last couple of decades and then all the hatred toward the Jewish people has turned into a new hatred towards the Jewish state and I hope that leaders in Europe will stand very firmly in beating back this anti-Semitism and treating Israel as they would treat any other country in the world, I think we'd all be in a better place."
