MSNBC ran a 10-minute segment on Wednesday morning that accused the Republican Party of having been infiltrated by white nationalist organizations that were part of the deadly “Unite the Right” rally that occurred last year in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The segment features NBC’s Peter Alexander interviewing Patrick Casey, the executive director of Identity Evropa. The cable network argued that the report needed to air “so that parents and college students are aware that these groups are out there.”

Identity Evropa is identified as a white supremacist organization by the Anti-Defamation League and is designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a “hate group.”
