Joan Walsh on Obama’s Poll Numbers: ‘People Really Enjoy’ Seeing Him Act Unilaterally

‘They like it ... this president is leading’

SHARPTON: "Now, Joan, it is interesting that the Congress as we talked about -- how they tried to just run against the president, because the new poll found 48 percent of Americans approve of the job that the president is doing. This is his highest rating since May of 2013 and he's got 12 percent a higher rating than President Bush did at the same time in his second term. What do these [indecipherable] numbers say to you?"

WALSH: "I think they say that the American people want action that the sad results for Democrats in 2014 where we are now, were really about a gridlock and people not understanding why nothing was getting done. I think the people are seeing the president act on immigration, act on the minimum wage, act on Cuba, act on climate change and they like it. They are tired of being told we have gridlock, we can't get your policies passed. I mean, there is a lot of that we are not going to get passed, it's not that the things are great, but this president is leading and people really enjoy seeing that."
