Mercedes Schlapp: ‘Absolutely’ Feinstein’s Release of Dr. Ford’s Letter Is ‘Politically Motivated’

‘Senator Feinstein pushed this through in the very last minute’

EXCERPT:

SHAWN: "Dianne Feinstein, the senator had the letter. She said she did not reveal Ms. Ford's -- professor Ford’s identity because she wanted to keep it confidential. But then there it was in the 'Washington Post' splashed on Sunday and then it came out at the very last minute. Do you think this was politically motivated or do you believe that there are legitimate concerns that have to be addressed?"
SCHLAPP: "Oh, absolutely. I think when you look at the fact that the Democrats pushed this through, Senator Feinstein pushed this through in the very last minute, the eve of the committee vote, when you know that she's had this letter since July and Senator Feinstein met with Brett Kavanaugh, never even brought up the issue. They had a closed committee meeting where you would address sensitive topics, never brought up. And then they submitted over 1,000 written questions to Brett Kavanaugh, none of them included this allegation. And now all of a sudden at the last minute Senator Feinstein is coming forth --"
SHAWN: "Do you think it was planned?"
SCHLAPP: "-- with this letter? It's just incredibly disturbing."
