AP Review: ‘The Interview’ Funny, Not Offensive

‘Unless you think Kim Jung Un is a god who rides unicorns, you’re not likely to be offended’

"It is rather meandering. I don't think that the film is entirely successful in finding a reason to parody North Korea, but it is more successful in parodying American pop culture. I'm sure it's feasible that somebody might be offended by something in the film, but really for the most part, unless you think Kim Jong Un is a God who rides unicorns, you are not likely to be offended by The Interview. Actor who plays Kim Jong-un, Randall Park who is not well known ... he's tremendous in the movie. Yeah, it's funny. The funniest parts of the film really come down to James Franco who is -- who gives a more outlandish and over the top performance than he has in most films, except for maybe Spring Breakers. He and Rogen have a pretty unstoppable chemistry together."
