Dave Wasserman: Republican Primaries Are About ‘Who Is More Loyal to Donald Trump’

‘Democratic primary voters are really responding to this message that Congress should look more like the people that it represents’

EXCERPT:

WASSERMAN: "Well, clearly, there is a backlash to Trump, much as 1992 was a backlash to the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court confirmation, as you hinted. And what’s unique about this year, the reason why the numbers are just through the roof, totally unprecedented on the Democratic side in primaries, is that Democratic primary voters are really responding to this message that Congress should look more like the people that it represents. Republican primaries thus far have mostly been about who’s more loyal to Donald Trump. And so you’re seeing that play out on both sides of the aisle, very different."
