Ben Stein: I’m a Jew and I Have No Problem Saying ‘Merry Christmas’

‘It’s Christmas, it’s not “Happy Holidays.” There’s nothing shameful about it ... let’s just admit this is what it is’

"Look, I don’t mind when people say Merry Christmas to me. I don’t mind when people refer to those beautiful green trees as Christmas trees. It’s Christmas. It’s not Happy Holidays. It’s Christmas. There is nothing shameful about it. I’m a Jew. All my relatives going back to the time of Moses and Abraham were Jews, except for my wife who is presbyterian. I don’t mind people saying Merry Christmas. I don’t think the Christians like being pushed around. I don’t think Jews like being pushed around and I don’t think the Muslims like being pushed around. Nobody likes being pushed around, so let’s just admit this is what it is. It’s the birth of Christ. That’s what we’re celebrating. Great, great, great event in human history and let’s not be shy about it. Let’s not push people around about it and let’s not try to cut people’s wings off about it."
