Mike Lee on Kavanaugh: We Have Far More Paperwork than Has Ever Been Produced for Any Nominee in History

‘He served in that position prior to his earlier confirmation for the court of appeals of the DC circuit, they didn’t need it or demand it then, no reason they need it now’

EXCERPT:

LEE: "First of all, we have far more paperwork than has ever been produced in connection with any Supreme Court nominee ever in our history. When they say all of it, they're perhaps talking about anywhere from one to 10 million pages of materials that would have been processed through the office of the White House secretary while Judge Kavanaugh was here in that position. Curiously, Brian, he served in that position prior to his earlier confirmation 12 years ago for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. They didn’t need it or demand it then, there's no reason why they should need it now. And for the same reasons they withheld documents, all documents that went through the Solicitor General’s Office when Elena Kagan was nominated and confirmed to this position, they've withheld this information also because it is privileged and it's not relevant."
