SE Cupp to Tim Scott: ‘Frankly, I Don’t Recognize This Republican Party’

‘Is it just that Trump has an R next to his name that Republicans are sort of okay now with being a party of protectionism and ripping families apart and wildly reckless spending?’

RUSH EXCERPT:

CUPP: "It’s a really good idea. I had a great conversation with Paul Ryan about it. It makes a lot of sense. Let's talk about some other policies that have been in the news lately. Tariffs, child separation, a spending bill that raises the debt and deficit to staggering levels. Frankly, I don’t recognize this Republican Party. Is it just that Trump has an R next to his name that Republicans are sort of okay now with being a party of protectionism and ripping families apart and wildly reckless spending?"
SCOTT: "Hit the emotional issue first. Because I think it’s important for us to separate the difference. On the family separations, the Republican Party came out aggressively against that policy. And because of that position, the doj and administration changed their steps. Which is a good thing for the American people. It’s a good thing for the soul of the country and frankly, it’s the right thing which is why it’s the right thing for the country. As it relates to tariffs, the vast majority of us said we do not like tariffs. "
