Tom Steyer: ‘This President Has More Than Met the Criteria To Be Impeached’

STEYER: "If you look at the most recent polls, just under 50 percent of Americans believe that this president should be impeached and removed from office. That’s the kind of level that was true with regards to Mr. Nixon just months before he resigned from office because he knew he’d be impeached and removed. But what’s going on, and what we see, is that it’s necessary to bring the information to the American people to make it clear that this president has more than met the criteria to be impeached. And for that we got 58 constitutional scholars to weigh in and basically we put it on the web, it’s a laydown case. And then we have to ask is it urgent to get him out of office. So really, what we’re looking at here, Ayman, is a question of is this the most important truth in American politics right now and do we need to stand up for our democracy and for the safety of the American people? And we believe strongly that the answer to both is yes."
