EXCERPT:

[clip starts]
CUOMO: "We’re not going make America great again; it was never that great. (Laughter) We have not reached greatness. We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged."
[clip ends]
GEIST: "Yes those were gasps you heard when Governor Cuomo said that. A number of president’s supporters hammered that remark. The president himself weighed in last night, tweeting, '"We’re not going the make America great again, it was never that great." Quoting Andrew Cuomo. The president wrote, 'Can you believe this is the governor of the highest taxed state in the U.S., Andrew Cuomo, having a total meltdown!' To which Cuomo replied, 'What you say would be "great again" would not be great at all...We will not go back to discrimination, segregation, sexism, isolationism, racism or the KKK. Like NY's motto says: Excelsior -- Ever Upward (not backward)'
HEILEMANN: "OK. That is a tweet of a man whose skin has been gotten under. Governor Cuomo, that was not a well formulated tweet."
GEIST: "No. The governor's press secretary issued a statement that reads in part the governor believes America is great. (Laughter) Never good day when you have to come out and explicitly clarify that you believe America is great."
HEILEMANN: "The governor believes America is not an s-hole country, Willie."
