RNC Spox: Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders Are ‘Losing Prospects on a National Stage’

‘Nominating someone who wants to change the economic system is not a good move’

EXCERPT:

FAULKNER: "So the base versus the base, and let’s go to Jeff Weaver, who is a former Bernie Sanders campaign manager, listen to what he says about his party."
[clip starts]
WEAVER: "We do not know who will be in it yet. Obviously Bernie Sanders has not made a decision yet about whether to run, but I think that if we are going to be as successful in defeating Trump and ending this abysmal administration, we are going to have to nominate a progressive, certainly."
[clip ends]
FAULKNER: "All right, your response. I mean, I know I heard the abysmal part. But the point that he is making is that Democrats potentially might be in trouble."
MCENANY: "Yeah, they might be in trouble, and I actually hope that Democrats listen to Jeff Weaver and nominate a progressive, because I can guarantee you Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, these are losing prospects on a national stage. The American public is seeing democracy at work, is seeing capitalism at work with the bustling economy. Nominating someone who wants to change the economic system -- not a good move."
