House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi seemed to suggest that she remained in Congress after Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump out of some sort of patriotic duty during an interview with The Hill.TV on Tuesday.

Jamal Simmons asked Pelosi if she feels some type of special responsibility when the president brings the leaders of the House and Senate together because she is the only women at the table.

“Definitely, and I don’t intend to relinquish that seat at the table,” Pelosi said. “I thought Hillary Clinton – no, I didn’t think Hillary Clinton would win, I knew Hillary Clinton was going to win.”
