Boehner to Obama: More Robust Strategy Needed to Defeat Islamic State (Washington Free Beacon)

Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) urged President Obama on Thursday to submit an Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) to Congress in order to “defeat and destroy” the Islamic State.

“Historically, the commander-in-chief has identified the need for the use of military force,” Boehner said. “Thus far, we have seen no urgency on the part of this White House.”

Boehner chastised Obama for not treating the terrorist threat with a sense of urgency, and needs to submit an AUMF in order for Congress to take lawful action against ISIL.
