Michael Schmidt: There Is Just Not a Lot in the Trump Collusion Bucket to Look At

‘Many more of the questions are about obstruction than they are about collusion’

EXCERPT:

SCHMIDT: “If you look — what happened in March is that the President’s lawyers went in to meet with Mueller’s folks to talk about an interview and the President’s lawyers were saying he's not going to do it. Mueller’s folks said, 'Look, we will go through what we want to ask him with you,' and they went through it. And many more of the questions are about obstruction than they are about collusion. There is just not a lot in the Trump collusion bucket to look at. There are a lot of questions about Russia's efforts to influence the election, a lot of questions about whether Trump knew about the hacking, about the efforts to give his campaign dirt. But there are so many other things he has done since he became president, including stuff as recently as this January, that Mueller wants to ask the President, 'Did you have criminal intent when you did these things?'”
