Mitch McConnell: Putin ‘Will Not Be Welcome’ at the U.S. Capitol

‘The Speaker and I have made it clear that Putin will not be welcome up here at the Capitol’

REPORTER 1: "What's your view on the [indecipherable] that the White House indicates that President Vladimir Putin can come in the fall for a visit?"

MCCONNELL: "Well, I can only speak for the Congress, as Speaker now made it clear that Putin will not be welcome up here at the Capitol."

REPORTER 2: "The President [indecipherable] I know you all don't like to talk about this, [indecipherable] that Russia might be meddling in the upcoming election, but in favor of the Democrats. Even if that's an accurate way to word it, potential Russian interference?"

MCCONNELL: "Well, I think we all know the Russians interfered in the last elections and the question is, are they going to do it again? And I mentioned, I believe that we can go today, that Senator Rubio and Senator Van Hollen have a suggestion that might deter future interference in our elections and we're open to look in all of that. The Russians better quit messing around in our elections. Want to make that perfectly clear. The Russians better quit messing around in our elections. They did it the last time, they better not do it again."
