Ronan Farrow Airs Dramatic Report on Open Carry Laws

FARROW: "We're going to turn now to one of the trends that's spurring, calls for body camera accountability everywhere in the country. Open carry laws getting more pervasive in some places. Laws allow gun owners to carry publicly their guns and they vary from state to state. We took a deep dive on this in one particular setting which is the subject of big debate, in Detroit. Our partners at Vocativ met with a group that is advocating for more expansive rights to openly carry. Take a look."

BAKER (Hell's Saints activist): "In Michigan, if you are legally qualified to purchase a firearm, you are also legally qualified to carry it outside in the open. The purpose behind the Second amendment is not hunting and it's not target practice and it's not even necessarily just be able to carry one in the street, but it's to have the ability to overthrow the government if it were to get so corrupt such as in Nazi Germany or in Soviet Russia. 

Right now, I’m just on my way to meet the group. We are going to go on a little walk today. We are going to go out and educate some people as to their rights and how to protect themselves."

BAKER: "Myself and two of the other members formed Hell's Saints in July of 2014. Essentially what we do is walk around with our weapons exposed inciting conversations from curious and supportive people."
