Mauro: ISIS Using Ferguson as Recruiting Tool

‘They’re trying to spread their ideology by saying this proves the American experiment of democracy has failed’

SHAWN: “Ferguson police shooting is now being exploited by ISIS. Yes. We are learning that the radical Islamic terrorists there are now using the social media to try and urge protestors to pledge allegiance to the Islamic State, evolving that if they do, ISIS will help those protestors launch attacks on police here in our country and on the American system. This propaganda move comes as the U.S. is deploying more air power in the battle against ISIS. Here today with me is Ryan Mauro, the Security Analyst for the Clarion project. Ryan, this is unbelievable. When ISIS over there starts pouncing on issues like Ferguson here in our country what does this mean?”

MAURO: “They want to be relevant no matter what the issue is. So saying if you pledge allegiance to us we will come and help you to doze out rioting. But what they are also saying is carry on the violence; anyway, what you are doing is no different than what Hamas or these other jihadists do around the world. They are trying to connect to what goes on internationally, to what’s going on inside U.S. domestically, but more importantly they are trying to spread their ideology by saying that this proves that the American experiment of democracy has failed and especially for black people, you have no place in America, you need to follow a different system, and the best system for you is sharia.”
