Raul Labrador: Dems Want to Abolish ICE, They Want Catch and Release and No Border Security

‘They want to make sure that people come to the United States and get released into the public’

EXCERPT:

[clip starts]
TRUMP: "I signed an executive order last week saying I don’t want families broken up. ... In the meantime we have to have strong border protection. We have to have strong borders. We don’t want crime. The Democrats want to have no borders. They want to get rid of ICE.
[clip ends]
SMITH: "You’ve heard that a lot from the president. And he's sort of doubled-down on the message that the Democrats don’t want border security. Congressman, do you agree with that?"
LABRADOR: "They don’t. I mean, if you look at what they are saying, they want to abolish ICE, they want to have catch and release, they want to make sure that people come to the United States and they get released into the public. And that means they don’t want border security. They claim that they want border security but any time we have a bill in the House that includes border security at the same time we’re doing something for the DACA population, they are unwilling to sign on to it. The only thing they want to sign onto is a bill that has weak security and a lot of amnesty. And Republicans are not going to sign up for that. So it's really interesting to watch this conversation."
