Cory Booker: I ‘Wrote Letters’ to Protest Obama-Era Detention Programs (NTK Network)

Asked about Obama-era detention programs on MSNBC on Thursday, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) told anchor Katy Tur that to oppose those programs, he “wrote letters” to President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.

“I had a lot of problems with Obama policies on immigration and family detention then,” he said.

Booker claimed he “reached out to the administration, wrote letters directly to the president, wrote letters to Eric Holder that a lot of the things we were doing even then were a violation of our values and ideals.”
