Israeli Amb. Blasts Abbas for Politicizing Condolence Statement on Jerusalem Attack

‘He’s actually pouring fuel on the flames’

"We appreciate very much the statements from Secretary Kerry and the president of the United States, President Barack Obama condemning this action. If you actually read, Andrea, the condemnation of President Abbas, it leaves a lot. There are things that he says in his condemnation where he's actually pouring fuel on the flames. We've just had a massacre in the synagogue, we've had four people dead, we've  people in critical condition and the Palestinian leader, President Abbas, decides in his statement of condemnation to not only condemn the killing of all on all sides, but he says, 'I call on stopping the invasion of Al-Aqsa mosque and the provocations of the settlers and incitement from some Israeli ministers.

So instead just unequivocally condemning it, he is actually continuing with incitement. That’s a serious problem. It has to stop. The problem that we have is President Abbas has reached out to Hamas, a terror organization a few months ago and sits in the unity government with them. Hamas, as you mentioned earlier on the program, is actually dancing in the streets right now after Jews were massacred in the synagogue and President Abbas is sitting in the government. That's the problem. The world should tell President Abbas, 'End your pact with Hamas and return towards peace with Israel.’"
