Schumer on Mueller: We Should All Be Be Aghast By The Smear Campaign Of Pro-Trump Forces (RealClearPolitics)

Thursday on the Senate floor, Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) said the Trump-Russia probe is "not a witchhunt" and that we should be angered by the "most extreme elements in the Republican party and conservative media" to "distract from the special counsel's investigating." 

He said Trump and his allies have no proof that "year one" of the Mueller investigation is indeed "not a witchhunt." Schumer said pro-Trump forces are hunting for any distraction to derail and sully van investigation.

"We should all be aghast at the relentless parade of conspiracies manufactured by the most extreme elements of the Republican party and conservative media to distract from the special counsel's investigation," he said. "From deep state leaks to unmasking requests, phone taps at Trump Tower, Uranium one, Nunes' midnight run to the White House and the Nunes memo. These are all attempts to derail a legitimate and important investigation."
