With the new cast of The View have come theexpected rumors about backstage fights, especially between the often-combative Rosie O’Donnell and the show’s token Republican, Nicolle Wallace. But when Whoopi Goldberg sat down with David Letterman last night, she insisted that there’s absolutely no truth to it.

“You get four chicks, and people expect you to fight,” Goldberg said. “Women don’t just do that. But nobody ever asks that of the guys.” She said the men on ESPN very well might be sniping at each other — as a couple of them did just yesterday — but nobody asks them about it.
