Rand Paul: ‘Past Time’ to Leave Afghanistan, Spend Instead on U.S. Infrastructure

‘I have long been a critic of both our current lack of strategic mission in Afghanistan, and of the colossal waste of taxpayer dollars there’

EXCERPT:

PAUL: "Experts estimate that‎ we've had to destroy billions of dollars‎ in military equipment that's too‎ expensive to bring home. My staff didn't‎ get to see the $43 million natural gas station built in a country that has‎ no natural gas cars, because no one could‎ tell them for sure if the gas station still existed. It was too dangerous to go‎ there. The waste in Afghanistan is‎ staggering,‎ confirming my opinion that it's long ‎past time to come home."
