‘I’m proud of our president for what he has done’

Retired Delta Force General: Trump Ditching Iran Deal a ‘Sterling Example of Int’l Leadership’ (Fox News)

A retired U.S. Army general who served as an original member of the elite Delta Force praised President Donald Trump for "leadership" on the world stage in removing the United States from the Iran nuclear deal.

Gen. William "Jerry" Boykin said on "Your World" that the move was a "sterling example of international leadership."

Boykin, an executive vice president at the Family Research Council, said the departure from the nuclear deal is of similar global importance to Trump's decision to move the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

After the Jerusalem decision, "everybody came back with a very negative reaction," Boykin said, adding that soon after, other countries began considering a similar move.

Boykin said a reported grace period of more than 90 days before the full effect of Trump's Iran deal decision is implemented is "a very positive thing too."

He said it gives America's allies in Europe who remain in the deal "enough time to save face" and possibly alter their position on the agreement.

Boykin said Iran may also become concerned with the move later on because they do not want European nations to reinstitute tougher sanctions.
