Don Blankenship: ‘People Should Have To Work Even If They Are on Welfare’

‘Some of you may remember Reagan’s words that we shouldn’t judge our success by how many people are on welfare but how few people need it’

RUSH EXCERPT:

BLANKENSHIP: "It’s pretty simple. The Republican study committee has come up with something that looks very good to me. At a distance. The big thing that has to happen is we have to have fewer people on welfare. Some of you may remember Reagan’s words that we shouldn’t judge our success by how many people are on welfare but how few people need it. That’s the real answer. We are going to to put people to work. What that Republican study says his people should have to work even if they are on welfare if they are able to work. They should be drug tested, of course. If those things will make a difference. It’s not that hard. It’s just a matter of whether you’ve got the resolve to do it. It’s apparent to me these two guys don’t."
