Joni Ernst Bashes Dem’s Comment on Her Looks: Wouldn’t Say That if ‘My Name Were John’ (Mediaite)

On Fox & Friends Monday morning Iowa GOP senatorial candidate Joni Ernst criticized retiring Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) for comments that surfaced over the weekend in which he said Ernst was “as good looking as Taylor Swift” but voted like Michele Bachmann.

“I was very offended that Senator Harkin would say that,” Ernst said. “I think it’s unfortunate that he and many of their party believe that you can’t be a real woman if you’re conservative and you’re female.”

“If my name had been John Ernst attached to my resume, Senator Harkin would not have said those things,” she continued.
