Kurtz: Press Doesn’t Give Equal Weight to Trump’s Actions on Russia Because There’s Focus on His Rhetoric

‘He’s right about the media narrative and the consensus is that other presidents have been tougher on Russia’

EXCERPT:

KURTZ: "He’s right about the media narrative and the journalistic consensus is that other presidents have been tougher on Russia. Ronald Reagan versus the Soviet evil empire comes to mind. But that’s based mainly on the president’s words because he’s often speaking positively about Putin, saying he wants to get along with Russia. But the press tends not to look or give equal weight to administration's actions imposing earlier sanctions and expelling a record Russian 60 diplomats because there’s such a focus on the President's rhetoric."
