That’s what White House officials have told 'The Washington Post' newspaper. Here’s the background. Over the weekend our ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that the United States may roll out new sanctions against the Russians as soon as today. But then a White House official told 'The Post' that Haley got ahead of herself and made an error that needs to be mopped up. That was a quote. Other administration officials told 'The Post' that they’re not so sure that Ambassador Haley spoke at all. They say she often personally checks in with the President before giving television interviews. And earlier today the White House stopped short of shutting down the idea of sanctions. So either new sanctions are coming, new sanctions are stopped or nobody is quite yet sure."
