Dershowitz: ACLU Would be ‘Up in Arms’ if FBI Treated Clinton Like Trump (NTK Network)

Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz told CNN on Wednesday that the FBI raid of Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s office crossed a constitutional line.

Dershowitz explained that all possible attorney-client privileged materials would be handed to an FBI “taint team,” who would determine whether the resources could legally be used in a prosecution. But that process already violates the Constitution, he said.

“None of us would accept the fact that FBI agents should be reading our most intimate conversation,” he said. “Taint teams are not appropriate in the fourth and sixth amendment context.”

“Every civil libertarian should have a concern about it, and I’m appalled at the silence of the ACLU and other civil liberties groups, who would be up in arms if this was Hillary Clinton’s lawyers being subpoenaed,” Dershowitz added.
