Gohmert: Massive Omnibus Bill Could Cost Republicans the Majority (The Washington Free Beacon)

Rep. Louis Gohmert (R., Texas) blasted the massive omnibus budget law that President Donald Trump signed last week, saying it could result in Republicans losing majority control in the House and Senate.

Gohmert, who didn't vote for the bill last week, said some Republicans betrayed the party on spending. He went on to say that if Republicans lose control of the House and Senate after the 2018 elections, Congressional leadership will probably change.

"I'm afraid this could end up costing us the majority, in which case you will have total new leadership in the House," Gohmert said of the budget signed by Trump last Friday. "I don't know, the Senate likes to hang onto their bad leadership no matter what happens, but it would probably mean new leadership there."
