CNN’s Tapper on Trump’s Omnibus Signing: ‘This Was More of an Airing of Grievances’

‘After issuing a veto threat to the omnibus spending bill, the president suddenly announced he would hold a news conference this afternoon’

RUSH EXCERPT:

TAPPER: "Turning to our top story in the politics lead. After issuing a veto threat to the omnibus spending bill, the president suddenly announced he would hold a news conference this afternoon. It was called so quickly, White House staffers barely had time to set it up. Except, I should note about the exception of a couple questions from reporters on the president on the way out the door. The president didn’t hold a news conference at all today. That wasn’t even the most unusual aspect of the nonnews conference, news conference. Dare I call it a fake news conference. Nor was it a bill signing, although dwous bill the event as that as well. The bill was not signed during the event. This was more of an airing of grievances. Festivus style."
