Jeff Flake: ‘Republicans Need to Be More Accepting of Reality, Climate Change Is Real’

‘Climate change is real, and it is happening’

EXCERPT:

FLAKE: "Gratefully, we're at a time when just natural gas replacing coal has helped us make big strides in terms of overall environmental protection, but we need to do a lot more. In Arizona these days, between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. we get a negatively priced electricity from California. There's so much solar being produced in California they can't use it all. They push it through Arizona in these hours and pay our utilities to take it off the grid. That's led to all kinds of opportunities we didn't have before that the market is helping out with, particularly as we get more utility-scale storage. We've got to also, I think Republicans as a party need to be more accepting of reality. Climate change is real and it is happening and we need to respond to it."
