Democratic National Committee chair Tom Perez was grilled on the DNC's poor fundraising numbers by Fox News' Bret Baier Wednesday evening, responding that at least it wasn't "morally bankrupt" like its Republican counterpart.

After talking about Democrat Conor Lamb's apparent victory in the special election for Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district—the race has not been officially called—Baier asked why enthusiasm from the left isn't translating to DNC funds.

"There is no doubt this was a big moment for Democrats in this district. Why is the DNC having a tough time fundraising?" he asked.
