Sean Larkin: ‘Any Officer Killed in the Line of Duty by Gunfire Is Too Many’

‘This is an alarming number for number of officers killed by gunfire so far this year’

EXCERPT:

DOOCY: "I would imagine when -- when an officer gets dressed in the morning the first thing he thinks about is I got make sure I put on my vest today."
LARKIN: "Absolutely. You know, and -- you know, As we were talking a few moments ago, 1970s averaging over 100 officers a year were killed by gunfire. Luckily with advances in technology, better medical training by officers, you know, bullet-proof vest that it's policy for most agencies for officers to wear nowadays, that does keep the number lower. But you know, any officer killed in the line of duty by gunfire is too many."
