Meghan McCain Forcefully Confronts Matt Schlapp Over CPAC Booing Her Dad: I’m ‘So Upset and Hurt’ (Mediaite)
During his CPAC speech last week, President Donald Trump took aim at Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) over his shocking thumbs-down vote on the GOP’s attempt to repeal Obamacare, sparking the audience to loudly boo the Republican senator who is currently battling brain cancer.
Appearing on The View today, CPAC organizer Matt Schlapp was confronted by co-host — and daughter of John McCain — Meghan McCain, who wanted to know why the conservative conference couldn’t show a little respect for her family as her dad is suffering through a life-threatening ailment.
“I have to tell you when President Trump called out my dad and led a crowd of booing I was so upset and hurt,” McCain told Schlapp. McCain added that while she knows it was about her father’s vote, why weren’t the other GOP senators that voted against the measure brought up.
