Parkland’s Hogg: We Shouldn’t Arm Teachers When We Can’t Even Pay Them a Living Wage

‘If police officers didn’t step in to take action to stop this horrifying individual, why would a teacher?’

RUSH EXCERPT:

HOGG: " Several armed police officers were around the high school and they didn’t take action. We don’t give teachers a living wage in Florida, to be quite frank with you. I don’t think the solution to this problem is more guns. That’s what the NRA wants. That’s what these politicians want, is to increase gun sales for manufacturers. That’s what they’re trying to work on here. I don’t think we should be giving teachers guns if we can’t even pay them a living wage and especially if police officers didn’t step in to take action to stop this horrifying individual, why would a teacher? Not even to mention imagine a scenario a student is able to get a gun from a teacher after that teacher has been taken out by a school shooter and that student is trying to protect her or himself. What happens when they get misidentified by the police officer? GOP’s response is going to be more student I.D.S. In that split second you don’t have time to look at an I.D. You have time to pull a trigger.
