Krauthammer: Ebola Outbreak in U.S. ‘Unlikely’ but Travel Ban May Still Come

‘There’s no real reason why you wouldn’t impose travel ban. British Air and Air France have already imposed one, and they are not racist’

Krauthammer’s Take: Ebola Outbreak in U.S. ‘Extremely Unlikely’ But Travel Ban May Still Come Soon (National Review Online)

On Wednesday’s Special Report, Charles Krauthammer said there’s still a miniscule likelihood that Ebola would become prevalent in the U.S., but that it’s possible the federal government will cut off travel from infected regions if the problem gets even incrementally worse.

“Look this is extremely unlikely that you have a breakout, an epidemic in a First World country, surely not in the U.S.” Krauthammer said. “However, if you get an outbreak of even a small number of cases when it is unnecessary and preventable, that would be a tragedy.”

If one more case of Ebola shows up in the U.S., a travel ban will be implemented, Krauthammer said, noting there would be no reason not to impose a travel ban and that travel restrictions have been already imposed elsewhere in the world.
